My first full body drawing

Figure drawing is getting fun.

Getting an art degree has so far kept me from having time to create much art! Ironic? Why yes.

It must feel strange to stand in front of a crowd of strangers while they study your skin and muscles and bones! I'm so grateful that someone is willing to let me learn on them.

New Toy Inside, New Toy Inside!

Most artists are art supply junkies. Come on, admit it, if you aren't on a painting you are scanning your local art supply store or your mail-order catalogs for that wonderful new thing that will make you feel that rush you are missing from not creating! We all do it, you can feel safe here. Mostly.. Every time I see a watercolor book written by a Brit I get travel palette envy. US accessible travel watercolor palettes are usually plastic or filled with very expensive paints from Germany. The Brits have photos of tiny palettes that would just drop into a pocket that look like just holding one would make every painting day a good painting day. The big sad part is that to order one from England would cost a small fortune, and a small fortune would make a small palette a BIG guilt trip. (Or a guilty pleasure, take your pick.)

Enter amazon.com! Ta Da! I was ordering my textbooks and did my usual trick of getting clear off track by looking at fun things instead and it paid off- well, tiny? I can't say it paid off big; that would be missing the whole point. I found a tiny, metal watercolor box. Yes, me, I found one. For a whopping 10 bucks. I won't tell how much for shipping, but it took this from a big guilt item to a guilty pleasure kind of thing. Now isn't that nice? And the cutest, most fun part? My sable travel brush fits perfectly inside! I might sleep with it under my pillow.

Figure Drawing

It is finally, finally my turn for a figure drawing class!  I have waited for and looked forward to this for a very long time.
